The Wellness Tool That’s Actually Hurting You

Why Strapping a Radiation-Emitting Device to Your Wrist 24/7 Might Be the Worst “Health Hack” Ever

Yes, there are better (and prettier) ways to track your health.

Let’s be honest — wearing a radiation-emitting device around your wrist all day, every day, in the name of wellnessmight be one of the most backward trends I’ve ever seen.

We’ve somehow convinced ourselves that in order to be “healthy,” we need to be micromanaged by a device that pings us, nags us, zaps us with blue light, and quietly radiates our skin.
Let that sink in.

Your body already knows how to regulate its rhythms. Your circadian clock is built-in. Your heart rate, HRV, and sleep cycles don’t need to be streamed, stored, or sold.

What they do need is less EMF chaos — not more.

But what about all the “data”?

Sure, it’s tempting to track every heartbeat and step. But here’s the problem:

That kind of constant surveillance often disconnects you from your body rather than helping you tune in.

  • Woke up tired? You already knew that.

  • Didn’t sleep well? You didn’t need a red ring to tell you.

  • Feel off after that workout? Your joints told you before your watch did.

What you actually need is to trust your body again — not outsource its wisdom to a wrist robot.

Also… they’re not exactly winning any style awards.

Clunky, plasticky, and constantly flashing — smartwatches are the Crocs of the wellness world. And just to be clear: I won’t buy either one for my kids.

And let’s not ignore the very real health concerns:

  • Constant EMF exposure near vital arteriesI mean, seriously?!

  • Disrupted sleep from blue light and nighttime notifications

  • Skin irritation and elevated cortisol levels

  • Data privacy breaches most users never even realize are happening

So what’s the alternative?

If you love tracking your health — great! But here are safer, lower-tech (and often more accurate) options:

  • Morning body temperature + HRV (manually)

  • A simple sleep journal instead of a “sleep score”

  • Daily energy and mood check-ins

  • EMF-free trackers

  • Good old-fashioned intuition and body literacy

Because when it comes to real wellness?

Less radiation. More regulation.
