Why I Focus on Mitochondria in My Practice
When most people think about health, they immediately think about food: what to eat, what not to eat, and which supplements to take. While nutrition is a huge part, true holistic health goes much deeper. One of the areas I work with the most in my practice is something many people don’t even realize exists—your mitochondria.
What Are Mitochondria?
Mitochondria are the tiny “power plants” inside nearly every cell in your body. Their main job is to convert nutrients into energy (ATP) that powers everything you do—your heartbeat, digestion, muscle recovery, brain function, hormone balance, and even your ability to detox.
If your mitochondria are struggling, your entire system feels it. Fatigue, brain fog, poor recovery, weight resistance, and even chronic disease often trace back to dysfunctional mitochondria.
Why I Prioritize Mitochondrial Health
In my practice, I’ve seen over and over that when clients support their mitochondria, everything else starts working better. Here’s why:
Energy & Vitality: Strong mitochondria = consistent, sustainable energy. No more highs and crashes.
Hormone Balance: Hormones rely on mitochondrial function to signal properly.
Gut Health & Immunity: Healthy mitochondria support the gut lining and immune defense.
Detoxification: Your liver and detox pathways are powered by mitochondrial energy.
Longevity & Resilience: Mitochondria determine how well your cells repair, recover, and adapt as you age.
Holistic Health Is More Than Food
Food is medicine—but holistic health is not only about diet. I look at the entire picture:
Stress & Nervous System Regulation – Chronic stress damages mitochondria and depletes energy.
Sleep & Recovery – Mitochondria recharge when you rest; poor sleep drains them.
Movement & Oxygen Flow – Exercise and breath work increase mitochondrial density and efficiency.
Toxins & Environment – Mitochondria are highly sensitive to chemicals, plastics, heavy metals, and even EMFs.
My Approach
When I design a wellness plan, I focus on supporting your mitochondria with:
Targeted nutrition (mitochondrial foods + nutrients like magnesium, CoQ10, carnitine).
Lifestyle shifts (stress management, circadian rhythm alignment).
Detox practices (liver support, lymph drainage, reducing environmental load).
Functional testing to identify where energy pathways are blocked.
The truth is: When your mitochondria thrive, you thrive.
✨ If you’ve been struggling with fatigue, gut issues, brain fog, or trouble losing weight, your mitochondria may be at the root of it. Book a consultation today and let’s uncover what your body truly needs to recharge at the cellular level.
